Administrative Department for General Administration

Department activities:
In the Administrative Department for General Administration, administrative and professional work is carried out in the field of personal status of citizens (change of personal name, additions and corrections of state registers), conclusion of marriage, life partnership, management of state registers (register of births, register of marriages, register of deaths), books of citizens, life partnership register and voting register.
As a part of the Administrative Department for General Administration, for the performance of tasks related to the management of state registries, records of Croatian citizenship, the register of life partnerships, marriages and life partnerships, and the acquisition of Croatian citizenship, there are Registry Offices, in accordance with the Regulation on the areas of registry offices ("National Gazzette", number 2/98) namely:

In the area of general administration, the Administrative Department for General Administration performs administrative tasks of the first level and other professional tasks, which include:
- change of personal name, subsequent entries, corrections, additions, and cancellation of entries in state registers;
- maintaining state registries, keeping records of Croatian citizenship, maintaining the register of life partnerships and issuing documents from them;
- registration of the birth of a child, registration of a marriage, registration of a life partnership, registration of the fact of death,
- registration of new-born children in the residence records at the address of the parents (determination of the MBG), printing of a certificate of residence, forwarding of information/requests for registration of new-born children for compulsory health insurance and for obtaining a one-time financial support for a new-born child
- marriage and life partnership;
- acquisition of Croatian citizenship;
- issuance of documents from state registries, records of Croatian citizenship, and life partnership register;
- maintaining the register of voters;
- providing data from the above records
